Udupi college washroom video row: FIR filed against three Muslim students, college administration

Karnataka: A coastal college is now making headlines across the state. The college management had already suspended three Muslim students on the allegation that they hid a camera in the toilet of the college and made the video of other students go viral. Udupi District Superintendent of Police Akshay Hakay Machhindra spoke about this incident. Now this incident has got another twist.

An FIR has been filed against three Muslim students over the alleged recording the video of their fellow student in the college washroom.

The FIR is filed in Malpe police station. Three students namely Shabhnaz, Alfiya and Aleema have been named in the FIR. In addition, the college administration has been named in the FIR. The FIR is filed under sections 509, 204, 175, 34 and 66(e) of the IT Act.

The issue has already created a flutter in the state’s political arena, with the BJP announcing state-wide protests on July 27, demanding the arrest of three Muslim female students involved in filming the Hindu girls.
